Shake What Mother Gave You! Shake what mother gave you Shake every sweet bit she gave Shake what mother gave you Shake every sweet bit she gave The way you move a man won't soon forget Take what the lord gave you Make it move in unholy ways Take what the lord gave you Make it move in unholy ways She's an angel child who's bound for her descent I noticed you in a crowded room Put a dollar in the jukebox Playing a tune That makes her hip swivel, Pure and simple She's got a jar full of jelly that I'm trying to get into Jump into the rhythm Jump into the neon glowing Shake all mother gave you Every which way it's coming and going She's one of a kind the night is almost through Shaking something special tonight's the night she gives it away Shaking something special tonight's the night she gives it away Let's make our way to the exit light. (what a night!) Sipping on my potion Came up to the notion I've got to get a little closer to you But when I approached My jaw dropped low Because I knew this woman was a hundred proof Shake what mother gave you!!!!!

Good As Gold 03:23
Good As Gold Through high and low you have you've been by my side and I by yours watching black water rise. There's far too much trouble flooding our lives, dive deep into it with me, you decide. I trust that you won't let me die alone, got no better place to go, she's good as gold. You could have fled while you had the chance, way up the high hills and never looked back. But here you remain, killing time with me still, Sail us away on my last dollar bill. Love's me the same whether rich, or poor, Stronger than stone, truth be told, she's good as gold. Some come and they go, but she holds her own. I trust that you won't let me die alone, got no better place to go, she's good as gold. Love's me the same whether rich , or poor, Stronger than stone, truth be told, she's good as gold.

Highway Time 03:56
HIGHWAY TIME Highway time is slow time, Heading cross interstate line. Heading down to see you soon, Already a year gone by. I hope when I arrive, I'm alive and not a ghost to you. This highway time. Going on while it all is slipping by. I'm doing everything I can, to pass this highway time. I know its been awhile, babe, We ain't spoke much since. That being so, I packed my things, and off down the road I went. Half way there through Missouri, I'm back on board from nothing, down to you. This highway time, going to count every road sign. I'm doing everything I can, to pass this highway time. 7 hours, since I've left Memphis, My tickets almost through. Can't explain why I'm unhappy, just more or less confused. Traveled a thousand miles just to see, my old girl through. I'm doing everything I can, to pass this highway time.

Ashtray Alleyway I woke up in an alleyway again Struggling to find out where I've been Yesterday is gone Today ain't got much longer Read it in the news All these point of views Point me nowhere Wash these blues away I've got to find mine in the sun Lately I can't find where it came from There ain't no compromise I see it in your eyes The purest and the booze I just can't refuse I'm a boy that's born to lose and wash away I'm a real hard worker , but work is hard to find That's why when I quit the beat I hit the street and the bottom shelf I'm gonna kiss these moon and stars goodnight This here alleyway don't treat me right Ashtray alleyway is where I shall remain If I can't break the chains then I can't quit the heat Winter's cold My bones are frozen I just can't walk away

Sour Grapes 03:46
Sour Grapes Steady getting through it , But theres too much pressure Can't pay the bills because money's been tight Head's gone spinning Because I lack direction Asking "How can I savor the fruits of life?" All these troubles of mine I keep them back on the vine I'm taking these sour grapes, And making sweet wine I can't walk this crooked line It's got me caught in a bind Taking these sour grapes, And making sweet wine I met a girl she was a dancer, drug hustler, john juggler, But I didn't mind Treated me kind when no one gave me the time She got me mixed up in some risky business It's a sickness, this addiction gets you wrapped up with a quickness Sedated to the fact I need to quit this Chemical dependency's a chronic desease when your supporting this modern form of slavery All these troubles of mine I keep them back on the vine I'm taking these sour grapes, And making sweet wine I can't walk this crooked line It's got me caught in a bind Taking these sour grapes, And making sweet wine Oh my God there's so much pressure!!!! Old girl's strung out and I can''t stand the sight Sour weather has shown that nothing grown right in some time I'm flopping on this hand because karma's come to set it right Steady doing her time I've got to put her behind, And take these sour grapes to make sweet wine Together doing our time I've got to get what's mine Take sour grapes to make sweet wine!!!! All these troubles of mine I keep them back on the vine I'm taking these sour grapes, And making sweet wine I can't walk this crooked line It's got me caught in a bind Taking these sour grapes, And making sweet wine

about

This album is a collection of vignettes, that follow my quest throughout the city of Chicago. A city so tantalizing, filled with promise and hope. Listen, and hear as all that hope sometimes dwindles, but gets built back up just as fast. The 5 songs on the album represents a different scene, from the last 5 years of my life.
